About Lunani

Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, I am primarily a print designer and letterpress printer with additional experience in photography and web (visual and front-end development) design.

I am a self-taught designer and have supplemented my design skills with various film photography classes (including view camera) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During my time there, I discovered my love for design through work in non-profits and working closely with the student sections for all 19 varsity sports.

I have recently taken classes in letterpress (both metal type-setting and with metal/photopolymer plates) and successfully created my first two color solo design project. I’m excited for some upcoming letterpress projects I have in my horizon and all the adventures that come with perfecting the use of a press as old as a Vandercook!

“ACÚ” was chosen because it resonates with my personal design style of clean design; acoustic music is music unplugged—where it is in it’s purest form. I believe in the beauty of simple design without losing functional or aesthetic appeal.

My passion outside of the arts is watching sports/playing fantasy sports, music and traveling. I am extremely passionate about the Illinois Fighting Illini, San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bulls, California Golden Bears, and San Jose Sharks. My favorite bands/musical artists are Queen, Foo Fighters, WALK THE MOON, Imagine Dragons, Young the Giant, GROUPLOVE, Fitz & The Tantrums. While I currently reside in California, I have also lived in Champaign, Chicago, and Hong Kong. I love traveling and am always open to moving to new places (maybe even back to Chicago!).
