About Lunani

Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, I am primarily a print designer, letterpress printer, water brush and ink calligrapher with additional experience in photography and web (visual and front-end development) design.

I am a self-taught designer and have supplemented my design skills with various film photography classes (including view camera) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During my time there, I discovered my love for design through work in non-profits and working closely with the student sections for all 19 varsity sports.

I have about five years experience in letterpress printing (both metal type-setting and with metal/photopolymer plates). I’m excited for some upcoming letterpress projects I have in my horizon and all the adventures that come with perfecting the use of a press as old as a Vandercook! I’ve recently dabbled in foil stamping and have learned it’s a much bigger pain in the butt than letterpress printing (but SO worth it!).

“ACÚ” was chosen because it resonates with my personal design style of clean design; acoustic music is music unplugged—where it is in it’s purest form. I believe in the beauty of simple design without losing functional or aesthetic appeal.

Eventually, everything work related will move over to White Peach Studio, but that website project is still a pending work in progress.

Outside of print art mediums, I am extremely passionate about dance (modern and classical) as both a participant and an observer. I have season tickets for the San Francisco Ballet, and I travel to see Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and on occasion, the Paris Ballet and Nederlands Dans Theater.
